Group By functionality
Group data using the "Group By" feature.
For instance, group trips by drivers or group expenses by categories. Enhances organization and clarity in data representation.
1. Group By Option
Located within the module's list view or Kanban view, the Group By option is accessible from a dropdown menu. Users can select a field by which they want to group the displayed records.
2. Categorization by Fields
Users can choose any relevant field from the module's data structure for grouping(Add Custom Group). Common examples include categorizing Loads by Broker, tasks by project, or leads by salesperson.
3. Hierarchy and Nesting
Group By supports hierarchical grouping, allowing users to create nested groups. This is particularly useful when users want to drill down into subcategories or create multi-level categorizations.
4. Multi-Field Grouping
Helix allows users to group records by multiple fields simultaneously. For instance, in the Sales module, users may choose to group opportunities first by salesperson and then by sales stage.
5. Dynamic Grouping in Lists
In list views, the Group By feature dynamically organizes records into collapsible groups based on the selected field. This provides a clear visual representation of data categorization.
6. Kanban Grouping
In Kanban views, the Group By option helps users organize records into columns or swimlanes based on a chosen field. This is especially valuable for visually managing records within a workflow.
7. Automatic Record Count
Each group displays the number of records it contains, providing users with an instant overview of the distribution of data across different categories.
8. Aggregated Data Display
When records are grouped, users can view aggregated data for each group. This may include sum totals, averages, or other relevant metrics based on the grouped field.
9. Sortable Groups
Users can sort groups alphabetically, numerically, or chronologically based on the selected field. This flexibility enables users to customize the arrangement of grouped data.
10. Drag-and-Drop Reordering
In Kanban views, users can reorder groups by dragging and dropping them. This intuitive feature allows for quick adjustments to the visual presentation of data.
11. Filtering Within Groups
Users can apply filters within each group to further refine the displayed records. This ensures that even within a specific category, users can focus on subsets of data.
12. Saved Group By Configurations
Users can save their preferred Group By configurations for quick access. This is especially beneficial for recurring analyses where specific data groupings are routinely required.
13. Collapsible Groups
Groups in list views are typically collapsible, giving users the flexibility to expand or collapse specific groups based on their current focus or workflow.
